What a wonderful part of New Zealand to visit. The trip with Jim at Remote adventures was one that will be remembered for the rest of my life. The scenery on the flight down was breath-taking.

At Karamea I stayed at Riverstone Boutique Accommodation which is truly a place that has been designed for the traveler that wants a little bit of luxury. Accommodation is of high quality and the dining facilities of award winning standards with ambience to match.

We all talk about the hospitality of Kiwis and Marg and Roger of Riverstone hold true to these sentiments and having stayed at Riverstone can only say a massive thank you for great service and making my stay at Karamea most memorable.

Fly to Karamea and back from Paraparaumu (in a Cessna 185) with Jim from Remote Adventures

DAY 1

Fly to Karamea from Paraparaumu and settle into your lovely chalet accommodation at Riverstone. If you have the time and inclination there are several short walks you can do to build up an appetite for a fabulous dining experience at Riverstones’ on site Restaurant.

DAY 2

The choices are bountiful, but one that shouldn’t be missed is a guided tour of the Honeycomb Caves in the Oparara Basin.

This is a 5 hour including the best features of the Oparara Basin. Includes a packed lunch and afternoon tea at a cost of $145 per person and you will be picked up from your chalet. (note this trip is not included in the rate of this package)

Otherwise just relax and enjoy your surroundings. Take in the stunning views of the Karamea River and the Kahurangi National Park whilst reading a good book on the deck of your chalet.

DAY 3

You will be driven back to the Karamea Airfield after a leisurely breakfast, to be met by Jim of Remote Adventures and flown back to Paraparaumu.

Riverstone Karamea has an onsite Restaurant with full bar facilites available everyday except Sundays and Mondays although room service is available on those days.
