About Us

Marg Brownlie was born and bred on the West Coast and lived on the Coast for the first 19 years of her life.

She has been in hospitality for a large part of her working life and has a passion for food and service.

In 1998, Marg opened a Restaurant in Kaikoura, the Olive Branch, and in 2000 renovated a 100 year old home into luxury accommodation called Kincaid Lodge.

In 2006 , she was lured back to the West Coast to build Riverstone Karamea and to uncover the hidden treasures that lie beneath us in Karamea that are so undiscovered.

Marg’s main interests are cheesemaking, gardening and anything to do with food!

She lives with her 9 year old daughter, Abby.
